Becoming Un-stuck

Have you ever been in a situation in your life when you felt stuck?

Perhaps you felt as though you were on the cusp of a breakthrough but not sure what to do next, or did not feel able to make the next step.  You can see that there is a brighter future, but often slip back into old habits.  Many of us have heard the quote from Einstein that says that:

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.

I see it like this; we need a new perspective, way of thinking or source of energy. In Donald Epstein’s SRI book The 12 stages of healing, Stage 3 acknowledges that we are stuck and this often coincides with a realisation that we are perpetuating a negative experience in our own lives.

In short, in stage 3 of SRI, we take responsibility for being part of the problem and part of the solution.  This requires a huge leap of energy from stage 2- where our problems are all about something or someone else and it’s much easier to blame others..(that way we don’t have to change anything right?)

Each SRI stage applies to our experience of life and the exercises can also be used to help us connect more to our body and how we hold tension. With practice we notice these patterns and apply SRI strategies to give us the energy and flexibility we need for life.

At Brighter Life we continue to teach the 12 stages of healing through our SRI workshops  (next one October 10th) and SRI will also be an integral part of the NSA Intensive morning on 19th September – suitable for all practice members in regular care.
